Your Print

WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT WHAT YOU GET

Your print will be high-resolution with clear, sharp detail at full size. Low-resolution images are shown on these pages, to achieve faster-loading for web viewing. Also, if your monitor calibration is off, the colours will not be accurately represented. In other words, the print will look much better than what you see on your screen.

If you'd like your print on a different material than canvas, e.g. metal, acrylic, matte, or glossy photo paper, send me an e-mail for a quote. Prints are available in different sizes than shown (just tell me what size you want).

YOUR GICLEƈ CANVAS PRINT

Printed with museum-quality, pigment-based, archival inks on acid-free, cotton canvas and coated with a protective, ultraviolet-resistant, and water-resistant laminate, your print will last longer than a lifetime if properly cared for (see below).

DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT

Your print is a "gallery wrap," which means the canvas is tightly hand-stretched around a solid wood frame and secured at the back with staples hidden from view (see illustration "Galley Wrap back view"). No further framing is required, or recommended.

Your print is done in a classic, clean style with the sides visible. If you choose to frame it, do not cover the face of the print with glass or any other material, e.g. acrylic. Like you, canvas is happier if it can breathe.

Generally, images are most dramatic when displayed on a black or white solid-coloured wall, but some can work well on a textured or patterned background. Choose a strong contrast for a background rather than trying to have your print blend in with or match the background. In most situations, hang your print so that its center is at your eye level.

Avoid displaying your print in direct sunlight, in direct fluorescent lighting, near a heat source such as a stove, or in a high-humidity area such as a bathroom.

CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
  • Avoid touching the face of your print unless your hands are thoroughly clean and dry.
  • Handle your print gently to avoid stretching, scratching, or tearing.
  • Occasionally dust your print with a feather duster or soft cloth.
  • If necessary, clean your print gently with a damp, white cloth. Never use chemical or solvent cleaning solutions, which can remove the protective coating and may damage your print.
  • If you accidentally scratch or nick your print, it can be touched up professionally or, if you have a fine hand and an excellent colour-eye, you can do it yourself using a pen or marker with archival-quality ink, available at an art supply store. First test for colour matching on the white canvas on the back of the print.
