BALD EAGLE
The Bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a "sea eagle" bird of prey, known as a monogamous species because it has one mate for life. Both parents participate in the care of the eggs and eaglets until they leave the nest, which is usually built in an old-growth forest. The Bald eagle's range is throughout most of Canada and the United States, as well as northern Mexico. It lives up to 40 years.
